Abstract

PURPOSE: A curable composition haing excellent adhesion to substrates and a low cure-shrinkage, comprising a specified (meth)acrylate having a bicyclo ring.
CONSTITUTION: A curable composition comprising a bicyclo ring-containing (meth) acrylate represented by the formula, wherein R1 is H or methyl, R2 is a C2W4 alkylene and n is average number of mols of addition and is 0W8, is prepared by esterifying a (meth)acrylic acid lower alkyl ester with 2,3-bishydroxymethyl-bicyclo- [2.2.1]-heptane obtained by reducing a norbornenedicarboxylic acid anhydride which is the Diels-Alder reaction product of cyclopentadiene and maleic anhydride.
