Abstract
PURPOSE: A composition capable of providing hydrophilic and water absorption properties without lowering the properties of a saponified compound, improving adhesiveness to cellulose, metal, etc., obtained by blending a specific saponified ethlene-vinyl acetate copolymer with a specified water-soluble high polymer.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content 80W98mol% and not less than 20wt% acetate group which is converted into hydroxyl group is blended with (B) preferably 5W200pts.wt. (a) water-soluble high polymer (e.g., polyacrylicacid or sodium polyacrylate, etc.) having a repeating unit shown by the formula I [R1 is H or alkyl; X is -COOM (M is H or alkali metal)] or (b) one (e.g. polyvinyl pyrrodilone, etc.) having a repeating unit shown by the formula II.
