Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of a liquid crystal shutter by providing a transparent exothermic film on the front surface of a panel constituting the shutter using a liquid crystal as an optical switching element. CONSTITUTION:A heat sensitive element 205 is provided by avoiding the optical switching part 203 provided on both surfaces of a liquid crystal panel 201 and resistance pattern 202 consisting of a trasnparent exothermic film, and the current flowing to the resistance 202 is controlled together with the temp. changing data of this element 205, whereby optical switching is accomplished in a fixed temp. rnage. This makes is possible to realize the responsiveness of about several mu seconds in conformity with on the off by using materials of different dielectric anisotropies of frequencies for the crystal body and using a driving system of applying frequencies of about several tens kHz at the on time.
