As a result, when weight 2 reaches boundary face 10 between liquid 8 and sludgy precipitate 9, the drop speed of weight 2 is reduced to make the interval of recording lines narrow rapidly, and thus, the position of boundary face 10 is detected immediately accurately even if the viscosity and so on of sludgy precipitate 9 to be measured are not clear.
