Abstract
PURPOSE: To make efficient use of marine energy by converting wave energy to an air flow with the help of a wave energy conversion device using a bellows.
CONSTITUTION: A conversion device body 1 equipped with an almost vertical wall surface 2 receiving a wave W is provided on the surface of a sea. An air hole 3 is opened in the wall surface 2 of the body with a wave receiving plate 4 provided. The aforementioned air hole 3 communicates with the middle part of an air flow tube 5 and a suction check valve 6 and an exhaust check valve 7 are arranged on the tube 5. In addition, dynamos 8, 9 are installed on the suction side and the exhaust side of the tube 5. The lower end of the wave receiving plate 4 is mounted on the wall surface 2 below the air hole 3 in a freely oscillating manner. A heavy- weight object 10 is attached on the upper end of the said plate 4. A bellows 11 is attached airtight between the wall surface 2 and the wave receiving plate 4 and only the air hole 3 forms an air chamber 12 opened. Thus it is make efficient use of energy by converting wave energy to an air flow and actuating the dynamo.
