Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain fine particle zeolite free from coagulation by regulating the slurry concn. and alkali excess rate of a fed composition and disintegrating the resulting gel.
CONSTITUTION: When alkali-soluble silica is mixed with an Al compound and caustic soda to obtain zeolite, the slurry concn. to the reactive liq. composition is controlled to 23W30%, and the alkali excess rate of 1.5W2.5. The resulting gel is disintegrated by violent agitation, and then crystallization reaction may be carried out, if required, by raising the temp. By this method fine zeolite crystals of ≤1μ particle size can be obtd.
