Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain products stable in shape by preventing the generation of a microcrack by converting the thermal expansion of a rotary roll into displacement and by controlling the gap between rolls constant by using the signal.
CONSTITUTION: Displacement converters 8 and 8' detect movement distances of cores 9 and 9' and supply detection signals to amplifiers 10 and 10', which amplify them to send voltage outputs to comparator 11 and a voltage difference obtained by the comparator is amplified by servo amplifier 12 to drive servomotor 13. Shaft 14 of servomotor 13 is fitted with gear 16 meshing with rack 15 provided to arm 7 to move roll shaft 6 so that the gap between rolls 3 and 3' will increase. Thus, a thin plate relatively uniform in thickness in its lengthwise direction and free from a microcrack can be manufactured.
