Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent clogging of a river water flow passage to facilitate thr cleaning thereof by constituting the short discharge pipe of the pump incorporated with a cooler in which the river water is used as a coolant by two pipes the inner pipe of which has a corrugated cross section and flowing a fluid to be cooled between the inner and outer pipes and the river water through the inner pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The pump discharge short pipe is double layered, i.e. an inner pipe 8 and an outer pipe 7; the inner pipe 8 has a linear shape longitudinally, while its sectional shape has a corrugation wherein its trough is widened axially. With such a construction, when the fluid to be cooled is fed into a passage 9 formed between the inner and outer pipes 8 and 7, it flows through the passage 9 meandering in the axial direction. In this while, the fluid is cooled by the river water and then discharged out of an outlet port 11. This configuration of the inner pipe 8 is very advantageous in preventing the dust contained in the river water from clogging the inner pipe 8 and in facilitating the removal of grease attached to the inner wall of the pipe. Accordingly, it becomes unnecessary to provide an automatic strainer, water take-in and supply pumps, which results in the minimization of the system in size.
