Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize quality and production by detecting the characteristics of starting materials before shifting the materials onto a pallet and by calculating the volume of air sucked on the basis of the detected values to control the vol. of air for sintering.
CONSTITUTION: Starting materials are fed to belt conveyor 3 from a group of starting material hoppers 2 and mixed and blended with mixer 4 together with water. Blended starting materials A are shifted onto pallet 5 of sintering machine 1 through hopper 11, adjusted to a predetermined thickness with cutoff plate 6, and fired with firing furnace 7. At this time, the amount of coke fed from a coke storage tank, that is, the coke blending ratio and the grain size after mixing are detected, and then the speed of pallet 5 as operational conditions is determined fromthe desired productivity, and the density of starting materials charged is calculated. The vol. of air sucked and the vol. of air leaked are calculated with operation circuits on the basis of the operational conditions and the characteristics of starting materials, and the vol. of air of exhaust fan 9 is determined in accordance with both the vol. Thus, sintering is carried out.
