PURPOSE: To process a picture signal at a high speed by storing a binary-coded picture signal memory with a binary-coded picture signal extracted by horizontal scanning lines through a picture signal processing part and by bringing it under the control of a microcomputer.
CONSTITUTION: Memory driving circuit 20 and microcomputer 30 are combined with picture signal processing part 11. In this processing part 11, a picture signal of a picture signal pattern, obtained by scanning a picture, in a desired area is binary-coded and binary-coded signals of the required area can be extracted by horizontal scanning lines. Memory driving circuit 20 that controls this processing part 11 and also includes binary-coded picture signal memory 25 stores memory 25 with the binary-coded picture signals extracted by horizontal scanning lines. Further, circuit 20 is provided with microcomputer 30 that drives the circuit by supplying information required for its operation.
