Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an enzyme immobilized film capable of being used continuously and repeatedly, by immobilizing insolubly enzymes in the interior of the micropores and on the surface of a film having micropores.
CONSTITUTION: The carrier 1, a film having micropores, is dipped in an enzyme solution and subjected to dipping treatment. When a water-repellent film is used, the film is previously subjected to hydrophilic treatment with an alcohol, acetone, etc. The interior of the micropores and the surface of the film are covered with the enzyme solution and dried optionally, and crosslinking is carried out between the enzymes by using an enzyme immobilizing reagent, e.g., glutaraldehyde, etc., and the enzymes are insolubilized and immobilized to give an enzyme immobilized film having the enzyme layer 2 immobilized in the micropores of the film 1 and the immobilized layer 3 on the surface of the film. Consequently, a very thin enzyme immobilized film with improved mechanical strength can be made, and it is independent of the properties of a film to be used as a carrier. Much more amount of enzyme can be immobilized than the conventional methods.
