Abstract

PURPOSE:To make part of either papers or sheets to be buried in an active material, and thereby prevent any separation of the papers or the like, by placing either the papers or the microporous sheets on both surfaces of the electrode plate which is filled with the active material, before the electrode plate is passed between rollers having rough surfaces and is pressed. CONSTITUTION:A continuous expanded grid 7 is sent, with either a paper or a synthetic-resin sheet 6 placed on the under surface of it, while an active material 5 is packed into the expanded grid 7 by means of an active-material packing machine 8. After that, either a paper or a micro-porous synthetic-resin sheet 6' is placed on the upper surface of the grid 7, and the grid 7 is passed between rollers 9' having rough surfaces and is pressed. As a result, the papers or microporous sheets 6 and 6' are partially buried in the active material 5, and the buried parts of the papers or sheets 6 and 6' physically stick to the active material 5. Thus any separation of the papers or the like can be obviated even in a dry condition.
