Abstract

PURPOSE: To adjust the rate and velocity of flow of jet fluid and obtain the metallic powder having stable characteristics by holding a nozzle core in a housing by way of a stopper, and moving the nozzle core axially by the rotation of the stopper.
CONSTITUTION: In an atomizing nozzle used for production of metallic powder, a nozzle core 12 and a nozzle ring 13 are provided concentrically to the nozzle core insertion hole provided to a housing 14. The nozzle core 12 is held to the housing 14 by screwing, by way of a stopper 15 provided to the top part of said core. Therefore, the nozzle core 12 freely moves in the l-l' axial direction by maintaining the concentricity with the housing 14, as the stopper 15 rotates. This enables the slit width t' of the injection port to be adjusted as desired, and if jet fluid is flowed, the hydrostatic pressure of said fluid acts uniformly on the conical surface E of the nozzle core 12, thereby automatically correcting the position of the nozzle core 12. Consequently, the uniformity of the slit width in a circumferential direction is improved and the stable jet flow is obtained, and this enables the powder of stable characteristics to be obtained.
