PURPOSE:To uniform the suction efficiency, compressibility and combustibility in right and left cylinders of a V-type engine by allowing the rotation center of the crankshaft to be offset to the outside of the intersecting point of the axes of both cylinders. CONSTITUTION:The lengths h1 and h2 from the piston centers to piston-top surfaces of right and left cylinders 1 and 2 are changed so that the lengths of the connecting rods of both cylinders are the same. When the crankshaft rotates in the direction of an arrow E, the crank angle AOA' of the left cylinder 1 during the piston descending stroke, from the top dead point A to the bottom dead point A', is larger than the crank angle A'OA during the piston ascending stroke, from the bottom dead point A' to the top dead point A. Similarly, the crank angle BOB' of the right cylinder 2 during the piston descending stroke is larger than the crank angle B'OB during the piston ascending stroke. Accordingly, both cylinders 1 and 2 have the same motion patterns during the piston ascending and descending strokes, and their suction stroke times are lengthened while compression stroke times are shortened. Thus, the functions of both cylinders are uniformed and improved, so that the engine performance is improved.
