Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and thus facilitate an easy working and assembly, by interlocking the shift rails having no shift with a single lock plate among several shift rails.
CONSTITUTION: During a shift between the 1st and 2nd speeds, the shift arm engages the groove of the shift rail 4 to be shifted in the axial direction. Thus the groove 46 moves along with the rail 4, and accordingly the lock plate valley part 22b is pushed downward by the parting of the slope of the groove 4b. As a result, the lock plate 22 rocks and tilts with the part 22b set downward. Thus the lock of the rail 4 is cancelled automatically and at the same time interlocks deep the grooves 5b and 6b of other two shift rails 5 and 6 at both the top part 22a and the valley part 22c. During a shift between the 3rd and 4th speeds, the grooves 5b moves along with the shift rail 5. As a result, the top part 22a of the plate 22 engaging the groove 5b is pushed upward, and thus the both valley parts 22b and 22c interlock the grooves 4b and 6b of other two shift rails 4 and 6 respectively.
