Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaporate and separate salt water with good thermal efficiency with a simple device by pivotally supporting diagonally a drying drum loaded with multiple hollow cylindrical drying accelerating members, and supplying hot wind and the salt water to be evaporated from the upper part.
CONSTITUTION: The revolving shaft 9 of a drying drum 8 is mounted in an inclined state between stanchions 7 and 7'. While the drum 8 is being rotated by operating an electric motor 13, salt water and hot air are supplied from the diagonal upper end of the drum 8. Then, the salt water is scattered uniformly into each drying chamber 8a by the rotation of the drum 8 and the drying accelerating members 17 loaded into the drum 8; at the same time, it contacts the drum 8 and drying accelerating members 17 in a heated state, on account of which the moisture in the salt water evaporates and the salt component crystallizes. The salt component S is separated from the stuck surface by the rotation of the drum 8 and is recovered from the diagonal lower end part. In this way, the salt water separation is efficiently accomplished with the device of simple equipment.
