Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the controlling and measuring of ultrafiltration rates by correcting the transmembrane pressures corresponding to the decrease in the ultrafiltration capacity of dialyzers and supplying dialysate.
CONSTITUTION: The metering pump signals indicating the actually measured values of ultrafiltration rates relating to individual dialyzers used and the blood pressure and dialysate pressure signals are inputted to a transmembrane pressure (TM pressure) calculating circuit, and from these as well as the electric signals corresponding to the TM pressure of arbitrary initial set values having been calculated, the ultrafiltration flow rates/TM pressures of the individual dialyzers used are calculated. These calculated values and preset ultrafiltration flow rates are compared, and the signals for correcting the TM pressures under which said preset flow rates are obtainable are inputted to the TM pressure calculating circuit and are thus corrected. The operations of dialysate feed pumps are controlled with negative pressure type, and those of clamping means are controlled with positive pressure type, whereby the ultrafiltration under dialysate supply under the corrected TM pressures is started, and the integration of the ultrafiltration rates including those during interruption of the dialysate supply is accomplished by an integrating circuit.
