Abstract
PURPOSE: To make operation simple and manufacturing cost lower by adding a rotating function for the cable of a torch and a valve function for controlling compressed gas flow to the connected part of the torch and the cable.
CONSTITUTION: The torch is of an electrode holding part, a gas ejecting nozzle 4, a gas passage 5 supplying gas to the nozzle, a conductor 1 supplying current to the electrode holding part, a handle 6 supporting the conductor, and a cable 15 supplying current and compressed gas to the conductor. The metal conduit 16 and conductor 1 provided to the end of this cable 15 are screwed in a manner as to be relatively rotatable, and the gas passage between both of them is opened or closed depending upon the degree of their screwing; in addition, the conductor 1 is made rotatable with respect to the metal conduit 16 in the open state of the gas passage. Therefore, the three functions, the connection of current, the control of compressed gas flow and the rotation of the torch with respect to the cable, are provided in this connected part.
