Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a high quality and economical insulating spacer provided with an internal ventilating hole on-off operating function by reducing piping portion and seal portion which are weak against external mechanical obstructions.
CONSTITUTION: A check valve 18 capable of being on-off controlled is provided on the outer periphery of an insulating spacer 7, and also the spacer is provided with ventilating holes 20, 20', 21 and 21', which are open at one end on the opposite sides of the spacer and are communicated with each other at the other end via the check vavlve 18. When a valve 24 is opened, the ventilating holes 21 and 21' are communicated with each other, whereby insulating gas 25 in a sealed vessel 2 and insulating gas 25' in a sealed vessel 3 are communicated with each other through ventilating holes 20, 21, 21' and 20'. With this construction, insulating gas supply ducts leading to the outside of the sealed vessel and check valves can be eliminated, and also it is possible to reduce the seal portion and improve the quality of the spacer.
