Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a simple constitution and operation to surely perform the rearranging work for new and old rolls, by installing the guide wheels for veering direction of the wire rope for transmitting new and old rolls, respectively at each of two longitudinal terminal ends of the rail. CONSTITUTION:The titled rearranging apparatus for the roll of the rolling mill is to carry out the rearranging work for new and old rolls set in the mill housing 3, by using a crane on the rearrangement working side of the housing 3; hereupon, when the old roll 5 is to be pulled out, the work roll-rearranging rail 8 is firstly connected to the inner rail 4 during the rolling work. Next, on ending the rolling work, one end of the wire rope is hung on the rearranging hook 13, another end is hung on the crane hook 11, and the rope is hoisted upward in order to pull up the old work roll 5 into a specified position. When the new roll 14 is to be mounted in the housing 3, the new roll 14 is laid on the rail 8, one end of the wire rope 17 is hung on the rearranging hook 18, and another end is hung on the hook 11, and then, the wire rope is hoisted upward; hereby, the roll 14 moves in the arrowed direction 20, and is mounted in the housing 3.
