Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound containing only a small amount of halogen, in high recovery, easily, by separating the catalyst from the reaction product containing 1,3-diene oligomer using a purifying agent composed of an ethanolamine and a mixture of an ethanolamine, a specific hydroxyl compound and water.
CONSTITUTION: A 1,3-diene oligomer solution containing extremely small amount of halogens is obtained by treating a produced crude 1,3-diene oligomer liquid containing a catalyst residue with a purifying agent composed of (A) diethanolamine or triethanolamine and (B) monoethanolamine, triethanolamine, and an acyclic aliphatic hydroxyl compound (e.g. methanol, ethanol, etc.). The use of the purifying agent enables the complete decomposition of the catalyst and the increase in the fluidity of the decomposition residue. The solubility and dispersibility of the purifying agent in the reaction products are high, and accordingly, the smooth and rapid decomposition and separation can be achieved. The bottom residue can be effectively utilized, and the corrosion of the apparatus is prevented.
