PURPOSE:A hair cosmetic having reduced celluloid erosive properties, improved hair dressing properties, washing properties with water, etc., comprising a specific polyether compound obtained by subjecting propylene oxide or propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to addition polymerization onto a polyglycerol. CONSTITUTION:A hair cosmetic comprising a polyether compound obtained by subjecting 20-100mol propylene oxide to addition polymerization onto a polyglycerol which is a tri- or more glycerol, and/or polyether compound prepared by subjecting 40-120mol propylene oxide and 1-20mol ethylene oxide to addition polymerization to the polyglycerol. Since polyglycerol is a polymer of a polyfunctional alcohol, it has high hydrophilic nature and strong celluloid erosive properties. The addition of propylene oxide or ethylene oxide with it to the polyglycerol removes the celluloid erosive properties, the hair cosmetic is washed away with water of water supply, has proper viscosity and improved hair dressing properties.
