Abstract
A surgical dressing comprises a sheet of thermoplastic material having a regular pattern of bosses or cavities and which has been formed into a non-woven net by being stressed in two different directions, the net being impregnated or coated with a hydrophobic substance such as paraffin or with a hydrophilic substance such as polyethylene glycol. The thermoplastic net may be of an ethylene or propylene polyemr or copolymer and may be transparent. The dressing is said to be non-adherent to a wound.ALSO:A surgical dressing comprises a sheet of thermoplastic material having a regular pattern of bosses or cavities and which has been formed into a non-woven net by being stressed in two different directions, the net being impregnated or coated with a hydrophobic substance such as paraffin or with a hydrophilic substance such as polyethylene glycol. The thermoplastic net may be of an ethylene or propylene polymer or copolymer and may be transparent. The dressing is said to be non-adherent to a wound.
