Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a light cylinder for printing by a method wherein a thin-layer sleeve is formed by plating, etc. on the surface of an iron core to which the release treatment has been applied and a draw line and the like is etched on the surface of the sleeve, then the sleeve being drawn away from the iron core. CONSTITUTION:The copper-plating of 150mu, for instance, is applied to a mother roll to which the release treatment has been applied and the surface thereof is ground. After that, the carbon tissue on which a picture pattern is baked by a publicly-known method is transferred and the developing, drying, biting-in, etc. are performed, thus the plate-making as the photogravure being performed. After the plate-making being completed, the chrome-plating is applied to the plate, the plate is released from a release layer through squeezing by a pressure roller and pulled out from the mother roll, thus a cylinder 5 for the rotary photogravure being obtained. In printing, for instance, the sleeve plate 7 as mentioned in the above is lined with a taperlike split metal 8, while these being fitted to the outside of the taper part of a shaft 10 and both ends being tightened by screws 9 and 9' so as to be able to sustain the printing pressure, thus the device being employed.
