Abstract

1524923 Lithographic plate cylinders TOKYO KIKAI SEISAKUSHO Ltd 24 Feb 1977 [27 Feb 1976] 07861/77 Heading B6C A lithographic plate cylinder is provided with an uninterruptedprinting surface by coating the entire circumferential surface with a hydrophilic metal prior to imaging to form the oleophilic image areas. The hydrophilic metal is preferably chromium or a stainless steel sheet with a finely-gritted surface, covered with photosensitive resin which is exposed and developed. The cylinder may be used in direct or offset printing of continuous patterns.
