Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to perform a safe and pleasant driving, by a method wherein, in a dropping pin type hitch for coupling together a tractor and a trailer, production of play between a pin and a lunette eye is prevented by pressing the lunette eye with air pressure. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm cylinder 14 is coupled to a bracket 23, which is joined to an end cross member 22 located at the rear part of a tractor, by means of nuts 24. A cylinder part 8, which is monolithically united with a hitch 3, is fitted in the cross member 22, and a push pin 11, which can slide horizontally, is inserted into holes 9 and 10 in the cylinder part 8, and is connected to a diaphragm 18 through a push rod 15. The lunette eye 4 at the front end of the trailer is fitted in the hitch 3, and after they are joined monolithically by means of a pin 5, an air pressure 21 is fed to the cylinder 14 through an air pipe 20. Then, the push pin 11 pushes the eye 4 against the pin 5 through the movement of the rod 15, whereby production of play between the two parts 4 and 5 can be prevented.
