Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb the scatter in assembling time by providing buffers on the assembly line for shunting the pallet of the upstream assembly station where assembling has been completed earlier than the downstream assembly station and the pallet loaded with defective parts. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of assembly blocks R1, R2... each having assembly stations 5 and linear electric motors 6 are arranged in series along an assembly line. Between the adjacent assembly blocks R1 and R2, R2 and R3,..., buffers B are provided crossing the assembly line at right angles. The pallet of the upstream assembly station where assembling has been completed earlier than the downstream assembly station and the pallet loaded with spare parts are placed on the buffer B to shunt from the assembly line. Said shunting permits the scatter in the assembling time between the adjacent processes to be absorbed, so that the flow of the pallets can be made smooth.
