Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the microcapsule of good quality by employing an agitation reactor with one or more baffles meeting specific conditions in production thereof based on a polycondensation between urea and/or melamine and HCHO. CONSTITUTION:As starting material, urea and/or melamine and HCHO react in the presence of an anion high molecular electrolyte (e.g. maleic anhydrate based copolymer) or a noion high molecular (e.g. PVA) and an organic anion (e.g. acetic acid) to form a wall film of a polycondensation on surfaces of fine hydrophobic substance particles whereby a microcapsule is produced. This hydrophobic substance uses a leuco pressure-sensitive dye or various electronically responsive acid substance dissolved in a nonvolatile solvent. During the production, it is necessary to use an agitation reactor comprising a reaction tank 1 with one or more baffles meeting conditions as shown by the formula and an agitator 2.
