Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a hydrogel having excellent phase-separation resistance and storability, high fluidity to allow forming to a desired shape, and useful as a cooling material, by compounding a crosslinking agent composed of a compound having a plurality of epoxy groups to a system composed of a polyacrylic acid (salt) and water.
CONSTITUTION: The objective hydrogel is prepared by mixing (A) a polyacrylic acid and/or a polyacrylic acid salt, (B) water, and (C) a compound having two or more epoxy groups in a molecule (e.g. polyethylene glycol glycidyl ether). The weight ratios of (A):(B):(C) are pref. (1W30):(98.99W50):(0.01W20). The mixture is optionally incorporated with 10W50wt% of a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. ethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, etc.).
EFFECT: Free of water separation even in summer season. Even when water is separated forcibly by heating, it can be absorbed again in the gel.
