Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the shrinking ratio during heat sealing by a method wherein the polyethylene terephthalate with a specific inherent viscosity is subjected to the first stage stretching under a specific condition and, subsequently, subjected to the second stage stretching to be molded.
CONSTITUTION: The polyethylene terephthalate resin of which a moisture is reduced to 0.02% or less by drying in a drying hopper 1 with a dehumidifier of an extruder and an inherent viscosity is 0.95W1.15 is extruded from a heated metal mold 4 and, thereafter, the extrudate is cooled in the first water tank to form a stock sheet 6 and this sheet is taken over by the first take-over machine 5. This stock sheet 6 is tretched at a stretch ratio of 3W4.5 at 85W95°C in the first stretching tank 7 and taken over by the second take-over machine 8. Subsequently, the sheet 6 is stretched at a stretch ratio 1.2W1.5, at a total stretch ratio of 4.6W6 at 250W350°C in the second stretching tank 9 and, thereafter, subjected to the embossing process by an embossing roll 11 and, subsequently, subjected to heat treatment at 200°C in a heat set tank 12 and wound on a winding apparatus 16.
