Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate loading of bundled tiles onto a pallet, by a method wherein a loading equipment is constituted such that a clamping device, which can move vertically, is installed at a travelling dolly which can move between a place above a pallet conveyed bt means of a chain conveyor and a place whereon bundled tiles are laid.
CONSTITUTION: Tile products are bundled in a small unit of about 4 pieces, and about 11 bundles so obtained, which are put on end and arranged in order, are bundled to form a bundled tile 6. The bundled tiles 6 conveyed on a conveyor (not shown) is conveyed to the side of a position where the tiles are transferred to a pallet 3 of a loading device 7. A travelling dolly 10 of the loading device 7 is then moved on rails 9. When it reaches above the afore-said conveyor, the bundled tiles 6 is clamped with a clamping device 13 lowered and is lifted. Separetely, in a stock unit 1 wherein the pallets 3 are piled up, a lowermost pallet 3 is transferred to a given position by means of the conveyor 2, being on standby thereat. With this the bundled tile 6 is transferred onto the pallet 3 with the loading device 7 being operated, and the following bundled tiles 6 are loaded in the same manner as described above.
