Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a valve mechanism against damages caused by sudden opening or closing by providing two variable orifices regulated in their openings for one by a pilot float valve and for another by a pressure-reacting valve.
CONSTITUTION: When a great amount of condensate is introduced from an entrance 8, a float 11 is floated upward, and the first orifice 15 is half opened to introduce the condensate into a pressure chamber 14. When a pressure-reacting valve 25 is opened, the second orifice 33 is opened, and the pressure reacting valve 25 is slowly operated since the pressure in the pressure chamber 14 is risen slowly and cannot reach the level of the entrance side because of the pressure which escapes through the second orifice 33 and a pass hole 37. When the condensate is reduced, a valve port 38 is closed by the pressure-reacting valve 25 to conduct the condensate from the first orifice 15 to an exit 20 through the pressure chamber 37 and the pass hole 37, thus making the operation slow.
