Abstract
PURPOSE:To bring a comfortable ride in a vehicle by providing a damping force approximately proportional to a working speed of a shock absorber. CONSTITUTION:When a compressing speed is low, a damping force multiplied on the basis of the size of an expanding slot 25 is generated. When the compressing speed is increased, a peripheral edge of each valve 19-21 is separated from a rise 24 to form a clearance, from which an oil is flown out. In case a center point O of those valves 19-21 agrees another center point ''a'' of the rise 24, a two-third damping force is created. If the point O is different from the point ''a'' with a distance delta, respective distances from the centers O of the valves to the rise 24 are different. When the compressing speed relatively slow, only valves where the distances are great are separated from the rise because the valves contact the rise 24 under various pressures. As the compression speed is accelerated more, the separated area is gradually expanded. Thereby, the damping force of the two-third increasing property is created more up to a value approximately proportional to the compression speed by properly selecting the distance delta.
