Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. in which there is no change in frequency at a resonance point over a wide temperature range, consisting of a raw butyl rubber having a specified composition and a diorganopolysiloxane.
CONSTITUTION: 3W70pts.wt. of a diorganopolysiloxane (B) of the formula [R is H, (substituted) monovalent hydrocarbon gp.; a is 1.98W2.02] having a viscosity of at least 100,000cst at 25°C, is blended with 100pts.wt. of a raw butyl rubber (A) having a Mooney viscosity (100°C) of 40W80 (e.g. butyl bromide rubber).
EFFECT: The deviation of a resonance point in a temperature range of -20W80°C was about ±30Hz in a damping structure composed of only a butyl rubber, in which the resonance point was set at about 90Hz at ordinary temperatures. On the other hand, in a rubber damper obtd. from the above compsn. there is little change in resilience against a temperature change and the deviation of the resonance point is about ±10Hz.
