Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the formation of good quanlity images which do not cause density differences etc. by controlling scanning light intensity according to the incident angle to a scanning plane.
CONSTITUTION: If the synchronizing beam position detector 18 provided at one end etc. of a photosensitive drum 9 detects the scanning beam light through a polyhedron 7 etc., a synchronizing signal is generated from a synchronizing signal generator 19 and is applied to a function signal generator 20 etc. As a result, the generator 20 generates the required function signal corresponding to the incident angle of the scanning beam to the scanning plane and corrects the current distribution outputted by a reference signal generating circuit 23 by way of an adder 22. A current driving circuit 25 is then controlled via a comparator 24 for controlling feedback, and a semiconductor laser 1b generates the laser light of the light intensity which is higher as the incident angle to the scanning face is larger. Hence, the scanning light distribution of the scanning plane becomes constant irrespective of the scanning incident angle, and the occurrence of uneven densities of the images by the scanning light is prevented, thus the good quality images of faithfully reproduced gradation characteristic are formed.
