Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled ink composition, with excellent fluidity, dispersibility, and adhesion to a base material, capable of forming a strong film in a short period of time, which comprises a magnetic powder, a silane coupling agent, an ultraviolet-curable resin binder and a photosensitizer.
CONSTITUTION: An ink composition comprising a magnetic powder, a silane coupling agent, an ultraviolet-curable resin binder having a radical-polymerizable unsaturated group, and a photosensitizer. It is possible, if necessary to add a viscosity modifier, which is capable of forming a film by self-polymerization, to said composition, in order to give viscosity characteristics corresponding to a printing system. The magnetic ink composition is further improved, by the preliminary surface treatment of said magnetic powder, with a silane coupling agent, because wetting of the magnetic powder to the binder is improved and a property of inhibiting formation of a strong film by the comsumption of a radical generated by the irradiation of ultraviolet rays, is retarded by the surface treatment with the silane coupling agent.
