Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition which has fireproof, heat-insulting and soundproof effect, and has wide applications such as a construction material, consisting essentially of a filler, a natural polysaccharide gum and a hydrophilic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A fireproof, heat-insulating and soundproof composition comprising 10W30wt% of a filler such as CaCO3, Ca(OH)2 or CaCl2, 0.1W0.5wt% of a natural polysaccharide gum such as guar gum, starch or alginic acid and 0.5W3.0wt% of a hydrophilic resin such as a polyurethane type resin, a petroleum resin or a latex type resin. The heat-insulating effect of this composition is further improved by adding thereto aluminum foil pieces, glass fiber, etc. The addition of miniature tetrapod- shaped members or confetto-shaped members increases the soundproof effect as well as physical strength of the formed material.
