Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a high-strength, stable-quality foam, by adding a blowing agent and resorcinol to an amino type resin precondensate prepated by reacting an amino type compound, an aldehyde and ε-caprolactam.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture is obtained by adding resorcinol and a blowing agent which is a low-boiling, water-immicible liquid such as n-pentane or which is a substance which generates gas when heated or contacted with an acid, to an amino type resin precondensate prepared by reacting a mixture obtained by adding, to an amino type compound, an aldehyde, ε-caprolactam and optionally a modifier, a lightweight filler, a flame retardant, etc. Then, the mixture is foamed at normal temperature or an elevated temperature into an amino type resin foam. Preferably, said resorcinol is added to the amino type resin in an amount of 1W30pts.wt. of the former per 100pts.wt. of the latter. An amount of resorcinol of below 1pt.wt. does not provide a satisfactory effect, and an amount more than 30pts.wt. causes lowering in foamability.
