Abstract
PURPOSE: To finish the surface of a semiprocessed forged product easily and smoothly by thrusting a part a punches against the semiprocessed forged product and moving the punches and the semiprocessed forged product relatively.
CONSTITUTION: Dents 5, 6 are repeatedly worked on a work piece B with a group of punches which consists of a hexagonal main punch 2 and subpunches 3 of the same shape arranged around it, and dents 6, 9 are formed on the upper surface and bottom surface of the work piece B. To remove burrs 7 and projections 10, 11, the punch group 1 is lowered so that the lower end comes in the dent 8. Then, the punch group 1 is moved and the lower end of the punch group 3 is pushed against the peripheral face of the dent 8. The die is rotated in the direction of the arrow, then a spring 7 is removed and the projection 10 is crushed to smooth the dent 8. Next, the punch group 1 is moved above the dent 9, and only those which can enter are lowered and their lower ends are pushed against the peripheral face of the dent 9 and the die is rotated to make the dent 9 smooth. Relative movement of the die and punch group will do as well.
