Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the DC power source for initial excitation of a generator by doubling the voltage due to magnetic field residual magnetism at the time of stopping the generator and supplying it to a field winding. CONSTITUTION:A voltage due to residual magnetic field magnetism exists at the time of stopping an AC generator, and is detected by an initial excitation transformer 10. The voltage thus detected by the transformer 10 is doubled by a double voltage rectifying circuit 11. When the output voltage of the circuit 11 becomes predetermined value by a voltage detector 14, an electromagnetic switch 8 is closed to thereby supply the output voltage of the circuit 11 to the field winding 2 and to then excite initially. Thus, the initial excitation DC power source can be eliminated.
