Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a printer which permits printing at a high speed keeping a head feeding speed low by a simultaneous printing of two lines with ink drops separated above and below a gutter positioned at the center of the direction in which ink is injected. CONSTITUTION:A gutter 11 is positioned at the center and charged printing ink drops are deflected in the upper and lower directions 9a and 9b as passing between deflection plates 6 and 7 where a electric field is generated while noncharged unnecessary ink drops are recovered into the gutter 11. Data equivalent to two lines from an inputting section 12 is inputted and stored by two lines into a buffer memory 13. Characters are inputted one at a time into a character ROM15 by a data address designating section 14 and dot information corresponding to the first and second lines are temporarily stored in respective registers 17 and 18 with a column counter 16. A data selector 19 delivers the information alternatively from the register by means of a data selector counter 20 and inputs it into a charge controlling circuit 22 via a shift resister 21.
