Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a rotational speed of the output shaft of a torque convertor at an instructed speed against the variation of the load by a method wherein an instruction signal of the rotational speed of the output shaft is compared with the sensed signal, and the clutch at the input and the brake at the output are adjusted and driven.
CONSTITUTION: Control device 38 adjusts a hydraulic pressure for a cluth 8 and brake 21 in response to a differential pressure between the output shaft speed of rotation of instruction signal pressure and the sensed signal pressure form the right side i.e. a neumatic pressure or hydraulic pressure acting to the right of the valve main body. That is, the hydraulic pressure for the clutch 8 is decreased more and more as the instruction signal pressure is higher than the sensed signal pressure. If the actual output rotation is lower than the instructed rotational speed, the hydraulic pressure for the clutch 8 is increased, and the driving torque for the clutch 8 is a increased. At the same time, the hydraulic pressure for the brake 21 is decreased and the braking force or torque for the brake 21 is decreased, the vehicle is automatically kept at a constant speed without any relation with the condition in the running road.
