Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the test time and enhance the reproducibility of the corrosion condition by using a cooled liquid of specific temperature, moisturized air and dry air.
CONSTITUTION: Cooled liquid maintained 20°C or under moisturized air heated 70°C or more and dry air of 40°C or under are prepared. The surface opposite to the film surface to be tested of the metal test piece having a film on one surface is cooled by a cooled liquid directly or through a thin metal plate good in heat conduction and the moisturized air and dry air are alternately brought into contact with the surface on which the coating to be tested is provided. Thus, on the surface and the back of the test piece, especially during applying the moisturized air, a large temperature difference is produced, dew condensation of the surface of the test piece is promoted and the penetration of steam and oxygen and the like onto the metal surface is promoted. Further, high temperature and high-humidity environment such as indoor bathroom is repeated and the good reproducibility can be done during a shortened corrosion condition of film.
