Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording material in which one heat-sensitive component is used for both negative and positive and which can obtain a clearer exposure visible image by employing a resol-type phenol resin as its heat-sensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A resol-type phenol resin of average molecular weight 240-10,000, preferably 250-5,000, which has a repeated unit represented by the general formula [R1 and R2 are H or lower alkyl radical; R3-5 are H, halogen, hydroxy, nitro, carboxy (salt) or sulfonic (salt) radical, or chain hydrocarbon radical of C1-20 or cyclic hydrocarbon radical of C4-14], carbon black and a phthalocyanine pigment or color are dispersed into an organic solvent, applied to a supprt so that the thickness is 1-50mu, and dried to form a heat-sensitive layer.
