Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a device capable of coating the surface of a sheet with high efficiency by an arrangement wherein a heating mechanism including a halogen bulb and a sheet pressing mechanism are provided along the transfer path for feeding the sheet with a synthetic resin film placed on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The device for coating the surface of a sheet such as a card or label comprises a belt conveyor 400 for feeding the sheet, a heating mechanism consisted of a halogen bulb 100 and a mirror 102, and a press roller 402. When a plastic film is placed on the surface of the sheet and this is inserted through a card inlet 3 with the plastic film at the upper side, the sheet is fed by the belt conveyor 400 and its plastic film becomes soft with a rise in the temperature while passing under the halogen bulb 100 so that the plastic film is adhered to the sheet. It is also possible to obtain a modified device for coating the both sides of the sheet at the same time by utilizing the above principles.
