Abstract
PURPOSE: To completely intercept a high temperature gas in the case when stopping the running of an apparatus and expand a controlling range by a method wherein a liquid sealing means and its working means are mounted to a high temperature gas flow path of a heat exchanger, etc. utilizing exhaust gas, and the flow rate of the exhaust gas is controlled by the rise and fall of the sealing liquid.
CONSTITUTION: When the temperature of the secondary fluid chamber 5 of the heat exchanger 1 abnormally rises, a temperature detector 17 detects the rise, and emits signals to open a valve 12, the sealing liquid in a tank 11 is flowed into a liquid sealing device 6, and the surface of a liquid 8 is raised to decrease the height (h) of an open section 10. Thus, the flow rate of a high temperature fluid is diminished, and the temperature of the secondary fluid chamber 5 drops. When the temperature drops, the valve 12 is closed; when it drops too much, a valve 15 is opened, the sealing liquid is discharged and the flow rate of the high temperature fluid is increased. When stopping the apparatus, the surface of the liquid 8 is raised only by a head section necessary for intercepting the high temperature fluid from a lower end of a partition wall 9 as seen in 8'. Thus, the high temperature fluid is completely intercepted when stopping the apparatus, the controlling range is expanded, and the load of the apparatus can be reduced.
