Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula I (X, Y and Z are O or S; R1 and R2 and H, lower alkyl, etc.; R1 and R2 may together form a ring with the adjacent N atom and alkylene or an alkylene containing a hetero atom).
EXAMPLE: S-3-( 2-Chloro-4-trifluoromethylphenoxy )phenyl-N,N-dimethylthiol carbamate.
USE: Herbicide having intergenus selectivity within Gramineae family (kills or severely damages the weeds of Triticum genus, Digitaria genus, Echinochloa genus, etc. of Gramineae family, and harmless to the plant of Oryza genus). It has wide application period, and keeps its effect even in a reducing soil. After being adsorbed through the young bud or root, the herbicide exhibits its effect with solar radiation.
PROCESS: The titled compound of formula I is prepared, e.g. by reacting a compound of formula II' (M is H or alkali metal) with a compound of formula IV (G is halogen).
