Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of receiving pictures, by detecting the information density of the code and the code error for this detection to decide the picture quality of receiving pictures and by reporting the decision result to the transmission side. CONSTITUTION:The signal from the transmission line is demodulated through mixer 1 by demodulator 2 and is sent to transmission control part 5 through swithch 4, and the operation mode of transmission and reception is determined in control part 5. After that, the synchronizing signal is transmitted by control part 5 to switch 4, code information density detecting part 6, code error detecting part 7, and decoding part 8 for every one block of the scanning line. The information density of the picture signal coded for every one block is decided by detecting part 6, and the error in code information for every one block is detected by detecting part 7, and the picture signal is decoded in decoding part 8 according to a prescribed system. The picture quality is decided by picture quality deciding part 10 by deciding whether continuous N-number or more blocks or a prescribed number of or more blocks where the code error detected and the information density is decided as thick are generated in the original or not, and the decision result is reported to the transmission side through control part 5.
