Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure without error by holding the peak value of glow current and at the same time, clearing the peak value held when an abnormal discharge occurrs in the lighting tube.
CONSTITUTION: The volume of a glow current flowing through a resistance 5 for a lighting tube becomes an output for a differential amplifier 13 and its peak value is held by a hold circuit 16. If the lighting tube makes an abnormal discharge in a glow discharge, the output level of the amplifier 13 shows an abnormal rise. Therefore, a comparator 23 for an abnormal discharge detecting circuit 22 detects said increase, emitting an abnormal discharge detecting output, which a memorizer 25 memorizes temporarily to output a memory signal. As a result, an analog switch circuit 14 opens a constant-closed type switch 14b, closing a constant-open type switch 14a. Concurrently, the circuit 16 opens an input part and stops the hold action of an output from the amplifier 13, resulting in a zero clearing. Consequently, it is possible to carry out sure measurement free from any error.
