Abstract
PURPOSE: A curable composition, having a largely reduced curing time and useful for a paint, an adhesive, etc., which is prepared by the addition of a metal oxide and a metal hydroxide to a specified silyl group-containing compound.
CONSTITUTION: A curable composition, which comprises (A) a silyl group-containing compound composed of at least one mixture of a polyether, a polyester and a vinyl polymer, respetively of MW 300W15,000, 300W8,000 and 300W20,000, containing in one molecule, at least one hydrolyzable silyl group, such as a hydride, halogen, alkoxy or amide group, bonded to a silicon atom, and (B) at least one metal oxide and metal hydroxide such as MgO, CaO, ZnO, Mg(OH)2 or Ca(OH)2, in a weight ratio of A:B of 100:2 or more.
